5 Bath-Time Benefits

We love bath-time, but it turns out it love us back!

Being a Soakie and being a bath-lover goes hand-in-hand. Even though our friends and families might tease us for being such water babies, it turns out that immersing yourself in a bath comes with many benefits.

1. Improve Heart Health

Although you should never have the temperature of your bath too high, having a warm bath will encourage your heart to beat a bit faster and get a healthy workout.

2. Improve Breathing

The steam of a warm bath helps to clear out the sinuses and chest. By laying in the water with your chest covered and your head out, your lung capacity and oxygen intake will be positively impacted.

3. Relax Your Muscles

A warm bath is very effective for relaxing sore muscles and easing joint pain. Also, moving around and stretching out in water is low impact and won’t cause any straining on the body but is still a good way to get the blood flowing.

4. Look After Your Skin

Bathing and steaming are great ways to cleanse and moisturise your body. Soaking in a bath and immersing yourself in water will naturally hydrate your skin. If you want to nourish it even further, you can add extra goodness into the water such as castor oil. This will enhance the positives even further.

5. Calm Your Brain and Nervous System

Hydrotherapy is a scientifically proven method to alleviate pain and inflammation. People who suffer from multiple sclerosis often report that the warm temperature and water pressure work together to relieve their spine’s discomfort.

The feeling of submergence can also drastically improve feelings of stress and anxiety.

Summary

So there we have it. If anyone ever questions your undying love for bath-time again, let them know that you’re actually looking after yourself and they should try it too!
