Soak Rochford is an Aladdin’s cave full of everything a creative mind needs to bring their designs to life, from bath bombs to whipped soap and much more.

Even though our products and ingredients are there ready for the picking, it can be difficult for our new visitors to know exactly what they’re looking for. But don’t be intimidated by the long words or confusing titles. We’re here to make sure you start your new adventure with all the information you need.

Assessment:
Our assessments provide you with a set base recipe for the product of your choosing plus the legal permission to sell your products in the UK and EU.
From bath bombs to whipped soap, bubble bars to body butter, our range of assessments come with your creation’s starting ingredients. We include a list of approved fragrances, micas, dyes and glitters that can be used to take your designs to the next level. All of these can be purchased from Soak Rochford.

Castor Oil
Castor Oil is an organic moisturiser, making it perfect for softening skin. It’s also known to reduce acne and nourish hair.
As it naturally creates bubbles, small amounts of it can be mixed into bath bombs for a little extra lather.

Citric Acid
Citric Acid and Sodium Bicarbonate are the two main ingredients in bath bomb-making. The combination of the two causes the bath bomb to fizz as it meets the water.
Normally, Citric Acid needs to be ground down before use. However, many of our customers have reported not having to do this. Removing a step from your meticulous creative process!

Dyes
Our water-soluble dyes are perfect for creating vibrant bath bombs, bubble bars, whipped soap and sugar scrubs. These powdered dyes are so versatile and a little goes a long way so you don’t have to scrimp on your experiments!
In high concentrations, it can be strong enough to dye fabrics, yet gentle enough to use in bath bombs and other wash-off products.

Melt and Pour
Melt and pour soap is a ready-made soap base composed of fatty acids, glycerine, and other natural ingredients.
An ideal choice for beginners, the melt and pour method involves heating the premade base, customising it with your choice of colour and scent, then tipping it into a mould to set. Once you get the hang of the process, you can experiment with advanced techniques like layers and swirls.

Micas
Mica powder is a natural and non-toxic substance that creates vibrant and metallic colours.
Create a beautifully shimmery effect and introduce the illusion of depth and shine to your cosmetic designs with our range of gorgeous colours.

Pigments
Non-bleed pigments are the best choice for bright creations that need to stay put, therefore avoiding the running or mixing of colours.
Mainly used within rinse-off products such as whipped soap, but they have been successfully tried and tested in other designs such as bath bombs, wax melts, body butter etc.

Pumice Powder
Pumice is created from volcanic ash. It is a natural substance that is an effective yet gentle abrasive, perfect for exfoliating products.

Soap Sponges
A soap sponge has one smooth, soft side and one abrasive, exfoliating side.
The sponge itself is filled with soap which slowly releases and lathers when used during a shower or bath. Even when used daily, a soap sponge is expected to last for weeks. This is much more than the standard supermarket shower gel.

Sodium Bicarbonate
As previously stated, Sodium Bicarbonate and Citric Acid are the two main ingredients in bath bomb-making. The combination of the two causes the bath bomb to fizz as it meets the water.
It also has a softening effect on hard water.

Whipped Soap
Whipped soap’s consistency is more like a foaming body butter than actual soap.
It can be created using a wide variety of luxurious, natural ingredients. This makes it a very versatile product that can be used as shampoo, body wash or shaving cream.

Whoopsies
These are moulds that have not met our quality control to be sold at full price. They still work fine but may be better off being used by those with more experience in moulds.
The lucky dip aspect means they might include a mould you would have otherwise not chosen – exciting!
