Top Tips for Organising Your Creative Space

You can thank us later…

Being a cosmetic creator means you have numerous pots, bottles, labels and boxes that seem to multiply by the minute, leaving you feeling stressed and chaotic.

A little bit of a tidy up goes a long way and no, that doesn’t mean you tidy up once and then instantly go back to your cluttered ways.

Here are a few of our top tips to help you organise your creative space and stick to it.

Introduce trays for tools

Make sure every tool has a home to go to. If you’ve ever told your children to put something away once they’ve gotten something out, then it’s time to take a sip of your own medicine.

If you’ve finished piping your batch of whipped soap, wash up and put away your nozzle even if you think you might come back to it later. Because the truth is, you also might not, and it could be left on your workbench for the next three days.

Decant bulk products

Although our litre bottles of fragrance oils are great value, we’re very aware that they’re not necessarily the easiest to tidy away.

Instead of keeping these bulky bottles in your workspace, decant them into smaller, more manageable bottles. These can be easily stored within your creative space and then your larger supplies can be moved elsewhere, such as into a garage.

Keep your finished products separate

Once you’ve completed a batch of orders, move them either onto a shelf or into a dedicated box.

This will stop your workspace from feeling cluttered and will allow you to concentrate on your upcoming products rather than feeling stressed and irritated because of the mess.

Create to-do lists

At the start of your working day, make a note of everything you want to get done.

If you jump in headfirst without looking at all the jobs you’d like to get done, you might end up expecting way too much from yourself or giving yourself too much free time when you could be working.
