Steer Clear of Avoidable Mistakes with These Tutorials

We’re sharing the mistakes we’ve made and how you can avoid them with in-depth tutorials

Being a cosmetic creator is one of the most fun, rewarding and imaginative careers you can choose, however, you also need to have a huge amount of resilience to be able to stick with it.

Similar to baking, if even the smallest mistake is made during your creative process, the final product could come out completely wrong, resulting in it becoming a “whoopsie” or worse: completely written off.

To steer clear of these mistakes, we’ve compiled a range of tutorials that will walk you through the trickiest of processes so that you can avoid the mistakes we previously made.

Bath Bombs

We have a lot of love for our OG assessment, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not a tricky beast to tame.

When first creating bath bombs, you might find that your results are too grainy, too crumbly, or are missing the vital fizz and bath art that is to be expected with these products.

If this is the case, check out Jay’s simple bath bomb tutorial which is a great starting place for new creators as much as it is a good fallback for when experienced Soakies’ batches aren’t playing nicely.

Embeds

Many of our Soak Rochford Support Group users regularly share videos of their bath bombs that begin to explode with colour once their product’s hidden embed hits the water.

If you’ve watched these before and thought “how do they do that?!” we’re here to show you. This tutorial is less than 10 minutes and walks you through the entire process of making embeds.

Whipped Soap

As a cosmetic creator, there aren’t many things more annoying than spending (what feels like) hours mixing your whipped soap ingredients together, just for the mixture to still be runny when you start to pipe.

To avoid this, watch our in-depth tutorial that shows you how to make the perfect whipped soap from start to finish.

If there is anything else you would like us to create a tutorial for, please let us know! You can reach out via any of our social media channels, the contact form on our website or via email.
