How to Hit the Ground Running as a Cosmetic Creator

Hear from Soakies who have previously been in your position

Diving into a new hobby or career such as cosmetic creation can be a daunting experience. But that doesn’t have to be the case when you have over three and a half thousand Soakies to support you.

To assist you on your journey to becoming a cosmetic creator, we asked our most experienced creators to share their best advice for those starting in the industry:

  • Do your research on the product first and understand everything you need to do on the legal side.
  • You do not need to buy every single assessment. Work on one at a time until you have perfected it!
  • Love your business but also yourself! I used to get up and work on my business from 5am until sometimes 11pm, I now work from 5am – 6pm shut off and I am much more productive as I’m giving myself my ME time also.
  • 100% go for it and don’t be shy about trying new things that are out of the box thinking or intimidated by others. Everyone has their own style.
  • Persevere. It will be challenging at first but just keep going and ask for help if you need it, especially with those pesky bath bombs!
  • Do your research first before jumping in! Watch as many tutorials as you can and read up about the products you want to make.
  • It may take a while and you will forever tweak your methods but well worth it. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day.
  • Take a deep breath, practice, don’t get disheartened if it doesn’t go right the first time, you CAN do it!
  • From day 1, write down and make notes about absolutely EVERYTHING! A notebook will become your bible and you will be amazed at how much there is to note down as you go along and want to remember things.
  • Research is key to knowing your legal limits and sticking within guidelines. Always keep up to date with any and all changes to CPSR submissions and guidelines.
