Unscented Soak Beads

Unscented Soak Beads are a new exciting product to Soak Rochford!

These small beads soak up over 30% of their weight in fragrance.

Cold Method
Sample recipe:
100g Soak Beads,
30g of your favourite scented oil such as ours: See range
Mica or pigment as required to colour.

-Place ingredients in a clean jar such as an old jam jar.
-Screw the lid on tight, and shake.
-It is normal for beads to stick to the sides of the jar.
-Shake periodically until the beads stop sticking to the side of the jar- this means they are ready to use.
-Absorption rates can depend on many factors including room temperature, and the brand of oil. Even each fragrance.

Once the beads are ready, you can either place them into organza bags, and hang as car air fresheners, wardrobe fragrance, or put into a vacuum cleaner bag to release scent whilst vacuuming.

Baking Method
If you are feeling really creative you can also use the prepared beads and bake them, to create shapes. To do this, try the following:

-Preheat the oven to 120-140 celcius.
-Place a piece of tin foil onto the tray.
-Place a metal cookie cutter onto the tinfoil.
-Spread the already prepared Soak Beads inside the cutter in the patterns of your chosing.
-Place in the oven and keep an eye on them.
-Regularly check them, and with a skewer try to move the beads. Once they have started to melt together, remove from the oven.
-Once fully cooled, remove from mould.
(This will have fused the scented beads together, and created a scented “freshie” in the shape you have used. You can then make a hole in the product, and hang it up where it will slowly release fragrance over time).

Finished Unscented Soak Beads would require CLP labelling if being sold, therefore we would advise to use at 25% if the perfume IFRA allows, and to label with 25% CLP.
Of course- these may be used for personal use without needing to be CLP compliant.

Soak Beads are NOT a toy, and are designed for crafters to use, children MUST be supervised at all times- Fragrance oils can be toxic.
