How to Achieve Stunning Spring Colours in Your Creations

Tips on mixing, layering, and using mica powders effectively

From soft pastels to bold, eye-catching hues, the right colour techniques can make your bath and body creations stand out.

And by mastering the art of mixing, layering, and applying mica powders, you can achieve stunning results that capture the essence of the season.

Choosing the Right Shades 🎨

Spring is all about light, uplifting colours. Think soft pinks, fresh greens, sunny yellows, and dreamy blues.

Mica powders offer a wide range of shades, so whether you’re creating floral-inspired bath bombs or pastel soaps, there’s a perfect colour for your project.

Mixing for Depth and Dimension 🥄

Try mixing different mica shades to create unique tones, or dust a light shimmer over finished products for an extra glow.

When working with multiple colours, start with small amounts and build up gradually to avoid overpowering your design.

Achieving a Smooth Finish ✨

For even colour distribution, mix mica powders thoroughly into dry ingredients before adding liquids.

If working with oils or melted butters, disperse the pigment in a small amount of oil first to prevent clumping. For bath bombs and soaps, using a fine sieve can help evenly blend powders into the mix.

Experiment with Colour Techniques 🧪

For bath bombs, layering different colours before molding can create a stunning, multicoloured fizz. In soap-making, swirling mica into the batter with a pokey stick can result in beautifully intricate patterns.

Seal in the Vibrancy 🌈

To keep colours bright, store finished products away from direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure can cause some pigments to fade.

If adding mica to bath bombs, consider using a small amount of polysorbate 80 to help colours disperse evenly in water without clinging to the tub.
