Your Questions, Answered: All About Embeds

Answering Soakies’ FAQs on how to nail embeds every time

Embeds are one of the easiest ways to turn a simple bath bomb into something unforgettable.

With the right colour, placement and technique, you can create fizzing, foaming bath bombs that surprise and delight every time.

What is an embed? 💡

An embed is a small block of coloured mixture placed inside your bath bomb.

When the bath bomb hits the water, the embed dissolves and releases its coloured foam from its hiding spot within the bomb.

How do I create the most impressive embeds? 🎯

Start with a compact, dry mix. Roll or press your embed tightly so it holds its shape.

Place it in the centre of your bomb for a dramatic release, or use more than one in larger bombs to create a layered effect. Smaller bombs usually only need one embed that should be carefully placed in the middle.

My embeds take ages to show, what am I doing wrong? ⏱️

If your embeds are hidden too deeply, the bath bomb takes longer to fizz down to release them.

Try placing them closer to the edge so they start showing faster. Just make sure there is still enough mix around them to stop the colour from leaking out before use.

How do I make my embeds’ colours really vibrant? 🌈

Choose bold, contrasting colours for maximum impact. Pale or pastel designs that explode with a brightly coloured embed are always eye-catching.

For even, intense shades, use our water-soluble dyes. They blend beautifully into your mix and make every shade pop.
